Ceasefire
Single by Apochromatix (feat. Ned Jampijinpa Hargraves)
Apochromatix are a project band from Mparntwe - Alice Springs comprising of Liam Campbell and Emma Trenorden working with other musicians.
Ceasefire is their first release. It was written in response to the deaths of Kumanjayi Walker and Kumanjayi White. Liam and Emma collaborated on the song with Warlpiri Elder Ned Jampijinpa Hargraves and Music Producer Andy Sorenson.
Ceasefire tells the story of the immediate aftermath of the shooting, explores some of the questions raised by the Inquest and includes a call to action. It also includes sections of Ned’s speech in Darwin at the end of the trial used with the permission of NITV/SBS.
The song is built upon a driving acoustic guitar riff, piano accompaniment and stomp box, and layered with keyboards and and boomerang percussion. Main vocals by Emma with backing vocals and boomerangs by Ned, guitars by Liam and keyboards and backing vocals by Andy.

Guria
Guria means earthquake in kuanua. Based on the poem Guria in Me, which won the 2026 NT Writers’ Centre Poetry Award, I wrote this song about my maternal grandfather. John Vuia was a proud Tolai who lived his whole life on the volcanic island of Rabaul, East New Britain, Papua New Guinea.
This song is a granddaughter’s recollection of a warm, kind-hearted grandfather and it is also the story of a young child leaving their birthplace to make a new home, across the seas, on foreign soil.
Guria was recorded in Dave Crowe’s Sing Hum studio, with Emma Trenorden on vocals and ukelele, Dave Crowe on keyboard, and Gleny Rae on piano accordion.

The Central Australian Youth Justice (CAYJ) coalition was established in 1999 and for the last twenty five years has put forward evidence-based solutions to address youth issues in Central Australia to make the community a safe place for all.
